This video tracks how ALE successfully performed the transportation and river navigation of six 286t engines. The components were transported and loaded-out in Alianza quay in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. They were then transported 550km through the Venezuelan Plains, the Orinoco-Apure axis, to Puerto Nutrias. This is the first phase of a milestone river navigation project and the first time a load as heavy and large as this has been transported on this river. The final stage will involve transporting the components over 200km to the Batalla de Santa Ines Refinery.

(23 Mar 2017) Residents of Venezuela's capital awoke Thursday to long lines of cars at gas stations amid rumors that fuel supplies in the nation with the world's largest oil reserves are running out. Dozens of cars were lined up at gas stations around Caracas morning in a fuel shortage officials are attributing to transportation delays. Long lines for gas were reported in several other cities. State-run oil giant PDVSA vice president Ysmael Serrano rejected claims Venezuela is facing a gas shortage, calling on Twitter for residents to remain calm and not fall prey to "false rumors". He added that gas shipments would be increased until distribution is stabilised. Opposition leaders and analysts contend PDVSA is facing grave financial and production difficulties which have only gro...
This is a collection of railway footage shot in Venezuela, mainly in the 1970's depicting various forms of motive power. Examples of Venezuelan Steam and Diesel traction are featured both standard and narrow gauge. Most of this material was shot in 16mm cine Film by the late Jaime Oliva Esteva. Jaime was a friend and fellow railway enthusiast who documented on film the Railways of Venezuela in the 1970's. Also featuring in this presentation, is video footage taken by Jaime's brother, Francisco Oliva Esteva of the mineral railways in Venezuela. To round it off, I have included my own video footage of examples of Venezuelan locomotives at El Encanto (3ft 6in Gauge) and El Consejo (2ft 6in Gauge) in the 1990s. We should be very grateful to Jaime for the work that he did recording the Venezu...
